William Hightower Chapter

The William Hightower Chapter #35 was chartered on March 9, 1984, in New Braunfels, Texas

Our chapter is named for William Calvin Hightower, SAR Patriot # P-181176. His Patriotic Service is as a Signer of the Legislative Petition No 392, Mecklenburg Co, VA, 14 May 1777.

Briefly, the petition was “… relating to the natives of Great Britain, and to the establishment of the paper currency of this Commonwealth.” The transcribed petition text is included William Hightower's biography HERE.

According to Billy E. Hightower's biography as TXSSAR President 1989 - 1990 biography “Hightower joined the San Antonio Chapter and organized the William Hightower Chapter in New Braunfels, which is named after his Revolutionary soldier ancestor, William Hightower.” [Ed. Also, Richard Lee "Dick" Robinett was a Charter Member of the William Hightower, Aaron Burleson, and Boerne Chapters of the Texas Society.
